The Rule of Law Safeguards · Harmony in the Family Leads to Prosperity in All Undertakings | Partner Lawyer Huang Hongfang from Our Law Firm Enters the Community for the 2025 Anti-Domestic Violence Legal Popularization Campaign
November is the National Domestic Violence Prevention Publicity and Education Month. As the "November 25" International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women approaches, to effectively enhance community residents' awareness of domestic violence prevention and break the wrong perception that "domestic violence is a family matter", Lawyer Huang Hongfang, partner of KINGPOUND KAYUI LAW FIRM, walked into Lianhua Community and Xinjiefang Family Community Service Center to launch the "The Rule of Law Safeguards · Harmony in the Family Leads to Prosperity in All Undertakings - 2025 Anti-Domestic Violence Legal Popularization Campaign". She brought professional legal knowledge and rights protection guidance to the residents, and safeguarded family harmony with the power of the rule of law.
At the event site, Lawyer Huang Hongfang raised a resonant question: "A family is supposed to be a haven, so what should we do when facing hardships (domestic violence)?" This instantly narrowed the distance with the residents. She then delivered a sharing session focusing on three core aspects: "reunderstanding domestic violence, legal provisions on domestic violence, and channels for safeguarding rights".

"Uncle Wang’s wife has been subjected to constant verbal abuse, financial control, and restriction of social interactions by her husband for years—does this count as domestic violence?" Starting with a real-life case, Lawyer Huang Hongfang clearly pointed out that domestic violence is by no means limited to physical harm; it also includes multiple forms such as psychological violence, financial control, and sexual violence. She emphasized: "As long as one party uses violent or controlling behaviors to make the other feel distressed and fearful, it constitutes domestic violence."
Addressing outdated notions like "family shame should not be made public" and "endure it for the sake of the children," she debunked them one by one: "Silence will only allow violence to escalate. A family filled with violence causes greater harm to children, and no reason can serve as an excuse for committing violence!"

During the interactive consultation session, Lawyer Huang answered residents' questions one by one, including "how to collect evidence for verbal violence", "the application process for a protection order", and "claiming compensation for domestic violence during divorce". In particular, she provided one-on-one targeted guidance to key groups such as the elderly and single-parent families.

This campaign not only helped residents clarify the legal boundaries of domestic violence but also dispelled their concerns of "daring not to speak up and not knowing how to safeguard their rights". Residents who participated all stated that Lawyer Huang Hongfang’s explanation was both legally in-depth and down-to-earth. The "family-like" companionship made everyone feel deeply reassured, and they truly learned how to use legal weapons to protect themselves and their families.
A family is the smallest unit of a nation, and a nation is an aggregation of thousands of families. KINGPOUND KAYUI LAW FIRM has always adhered to its original aspiration of public welfare, focusing on the protection of the rights and interests of women, children and vulnerable groups. In the future, the law firm will continue to participate in more diverse forms of community legal popularization activities, allowing the "sunshine of the law" to illuminate every family and safeguarding family harmony and social stability through the rule of law.
